Nicole's Table Culinary Tour
Nicole's Table is the creation of Nicole Arthurton, a native of Montserrat who now lives in Antigua with her husband Adam Dennis and two daughters, Zoe and Emily.
Nicole grew up around restaurants and a mother who was famous on the little Emerald Isle for sumptuous meals whipped up in minutes. She learned how to cook as a child and has made it a life pursuit.
Nicole's cooking classes are provided to tourists locals alike (where they are offered as part of a "cooking club"). The West Indian menus often twist local flavor with other International cuisines to make a truly unique meal that is relatively quick to make. Sample titles include Coordinating Curries, Cooking with Rum, and Seafood Fantasies. Mmmm.
Since the classes are hosted in a private West Indian styled home, you get an opportunity to see a side of Antigua you wouldn't usually see. You can meet local people, enjoy a festive learning environment, and finish your class with a wonderfully tasty meal... prepared by your very own hands.
And classes are small with no more than 15 people at a time.
Nicole's cooking style emphasizes healthy foods that draw on local vegetables and herbs. There are many types of West Indian vegetables that are locally well-known for their good health properties. Be sure to ask about such things so that you can go home with a wealth of knowledge that you can spring on family and friends in the form of a marvelous meal.
